Just a heads up about the Hamilton for Haiti Concerts that are happening across Hamilton, Ontario.

Last night Andre & the J-Tones performed at The Corktown Pub for one of its first events along sidesome other great artists including.
Melissa Bel, Chris & Christa, Jamila B, and The Justin Sawicki Band. It was a blast and everyone was amazing!

Hi Everyone!
Just some news from the last week and a bit.
Last Monday, December 7 Andre was on the Radio with Steven Francis from 93.3 McMaster Radio on a show called Dusted Off, its a show about The Blues and Motown and its on every Monday from 6-7 p.m.
You can download episodes and hear the show here and you can go to Steven's Myspace here . It was a great show where Steven and Andre talked about the Blues and Andre's music.

Andre's Rhythm & Blues Christmas Concert went well on Sun. Dec. 13, 2009 which was recorded live, filmed by a few sources and enjoyed by many. Thanks to everyone for coming out to our concert, we can't' thank you enough for your support and friendship!!!

On Tues. Dec. 15, 2009 Andre and our bass player Mike Rowell went down to the Cable 14 Studio on Dundurn for an interview with Mark Vituska. Thanks Mark! It was a lot of fun. So that should be on Hamilton's Cable 14 in the new week or 2.

Andre Nominated for Hamilton Music Award 2009
Hamilton, Ontario – Saturday, October 18, 2009 – Andre Bisson has been nominated for Blues Record of the Year for the 2009 Hamilton Music Awards for his newly released record “Rhythm & Blues Experience”. The ceremony will be taking place on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Mohawk College MacIntyre Theatre, for more information please go to www.hamiltonmusicawards.com
This CD that has been making its way around radio stations through Canada including CBC’s Edmonton Saturday Night Blues as well in the US, Denmark and on podcasts, blues blogs and magazines from many locations.
Andre and his band were honoured to be the headlining act for Sault Ste Marie's Canada Day Event at Roberta Bondar Tent Pavilion as well as Bruce Mines Canada event earlier that day. The band was featured this summer at The Royal Botanical Gardens performing for the Red Hot Jazz and Cool Blues Concert Series, and the Tulip and Lilac Celebrations as well. Other highlights this summer was the Perth Garlic Festival, Mississauga Lobsterfest, Burlington Rotary Ribfest where over the 4 days of this festival there were approximately 175,000 people in attendance, The Hamilton Mustard Festival, Hamilton’s Fix Our Word Fundraiser and the Caledonia Fair.
Andre will be putting on “A Rhythm & Blues Christmas” concert on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at The Royal Hamilton Yacht Club – 7:30 p.m. $10 Adults, $7 Students. www.rhyc.on.ca A Portion will be donated to The Good Shepherd Centres.

Great time at the Caledonia fair last night!
Made some new friends and saw some of Caledonia's fairs greatest moments! I don't think I've ever seen a Pumpkin so big!
With a great crowd, and some very great dancers/music lovers, it really made it a lot of fun and we were very excited to be there!

We are performing this weekend for the
The Hamilton Mustard Festival-Sat. Sept. 5 @ 6 p.m.
Burlington Ribfest - Sunday, Sept. 6 @ 5:30 p.m.
and the Fix Our World Fundraiser - Sat. Sept 5 @ 8:30 p.m.
We played at some great festivals this weekend and never felt so great! We want to thank everyone that stayed around listened and came to talk to us. It was nice to meet everyone and we e all had a really good time. THANKS!
We saw a lot of great bands this weekend as well including: The Regal Dixieland Band, Jude Johnson, Michael Keys, Backroom 11, James Anthony and Band, and of course The Downchild Blues Band. It was great to meet a lot of amazing musicians. Truly inspiring!
Also a big Thank you to the Mustard Festival, Fix Our World, and The Rotary of Burlington Ribfest we had such a fantastic weekend!

Wednesday, August 5, 2009 Wehad a very busy week last week, starting with The Royal Botanical Gardens Red Hot Jazz and Cool Blues Festival where we played our hearts out to a very good crowd, lots of friendly people, great food, and great weather.

Friday, August 7th, 2009 we left for Quyon Quebec where we were staying at Andre's parents cottage on the Ottawa River. It was a great drive and we made great time. Later...much later that night (3 a.m.) the second load of band members arrived (due to car problems) While we waiting for the second car to make it we took advantage of the horseshoes, relaxing, bonfire, and a ride on Catamaran.
Saturday, August 8th, 2009 We a rrived at 11 a.m. in Perth, Ontario after taking a ferry and a good drive back into Ontario to perform for the Perth Garlic Festival. Eating lots of samples of garlic, garlic spreads, honey, fudge, a garlic bread tasting, and other great treats. Thanks to the Lions Club and the committee of the Perth Garlic Festival!
We ended the night with more relaxing and a few Euchre Games. Intense...
Sunday, August 9th, 2009 Everyone spent the day doing different things such as; fishing, eating, relaxing, walking, jogging, horseshoes, and bird watching. Later that night we made our way to Ottawa, ON our capital city at the Rainbow Bistro where we bumped into Richard Page(Tenor Sax) that went to schoolwith at Mohawk College. It was a great crowd, with dancers from Swing Dynamite in Ottawa. We met a lot of great people from Ottawa and England, and from surrounding cities. Thanks everyone for staying for the show on a Sunday night!
Monday, August 10, 2009 6 a.m. Elliott Marshall the drummer left earlier to get to work for 1 p.m. in Milton, ON
The rest of us prepared slowly to go home for after lunch by, lounging, fishing, walking, and just taking our time. We made it home around 9p.m. and that was our Ottawa Trip!!!
